Combining traditional techniques with contemporary design, the Go Shun Stool by Yoon Shun showcases the artist's mastery of working with wood. Solid oak beams are meticulously carved using the ancient practice of wood burning, resulting in an intricate pattern etched into the surface.

While rooted in tradition, this piece exemplifies modern craftsmanship. To protect the intricate wooden design from wear and tear, seven layers of tung oil are carefully applied, ensuring the natural beauty of the grain is preserved while providing a protective coating.

The attention to detail in both the carving process and the finishing touches highlights the artist's dedication to their craft. This stool is a unique piece that celebrates the enduring appeal of woodworking and the fusion of time-honored methods with contemporary aesthetics.

Yoon Shun's artistic vision transcends boundaries, seamlessly fusing purpose with poetic expression. Through intricate craftsmanship and a meditative approach, his sculptural pieces reveal the invisible narratives that lie beneath surfaces.
