HURRICANE LANTERNS by DEBORADH EHRLICH

For over two decades, celebrated designer Deborah Ehrlich has been creating exquisite crystal glassware pieces. Based in her Hudson Valley studio, Ehrlich meticulously sketches the contemporary forms that are then brought to life by master craftsmen in Sweden using traditional glassblowing, cutting, and polishing techniques.

Her "Hurricane Lanterns" exemplify this harmonious blend of modern aesthetics and time-honored artisanship.

These sophisticated candles reimagine the classic hurricane design with Ehrlich's signature minimalist elegance. Crafted with the utmost precision, each set comprises three hand-blown glass cylinders of varying heights that nestle seamlessly within one another. The slender, cylindrical glass pieces encase a paraffin wax holder available in eight eye-catching metal finishes and two glass versions with contrasting thickness levels. As the flame dances across the looping surfaces of the delicate glass cylinders, it casts a mesmerizing display of kaleidoscopic reflections. Ehrlich's creations are a testament to her ability to unite contemporary forms with the impeccable quality of centuries-old glassmaking traditions.
